Your FitBit can track a myriad of things: your heart rate, the amount of steps you take per day and the distance you’ve travelled among other things, but did you know that it can monitor your heart breaking? Yes, that feeling you get when someone you love decides they don’t love you anymore.
Earlier this week, Buzzfeed news reported that a man called Koby Soto, from Tel Aviv was wearing his FitBit on Saturday at midday when his other half called him to break up end their relationship. Soto was alone at home at the time and remained there for the rest of the day.
Later than evening, when Soto opened his FitBit app, he noticed that it had recorded the moment he received his devastating news. Until midday, Soto’s heart rate was at a steady 67 bpm, but on receiving the call, his heart rate shot above 90 and even peaked at 118 later that afternoon.
Speaking to Buzzfeed News, Soto said “It’s nice to have confirmation of how you felt. Everyone understands heartbreak, everyone’s felt it, but when you have this, you have something to show’.
