Waterford book their spot in the All-Ireland SHC semi-final

Waterford have booked their place in the All-Ireland Senior hurling Championship semi-final following a hard earned win over Wexford at the newly revamped Pairc Uí Chaoimh this afternoon

Waterford held a 1-12 to 0-10 advantage at half-time, with Kevin Morna netting the Déise goal in first half injury time

He fired to the back of the net just before the break, havig been played in by Shane Bennett, who intercepted a careless Eoin Moore pass.

Wexford did come back in the eraly stages of the second half-time, but Waterford weathered the storm and finished strongly with a big impact from Maurice Shanahan and Brian O' Halloran off the bench

Tadhg De Búrca was given a straight red card by referee Fergal Horgan in the 65th minute following advice from his linesman

Jack O' Connor got a late consolation goal for Wexford, but it was Waterford who held on for a 1-23 to 1-19 win, today was about winning and Waterford are back in the last four for the third straight season
