The Central Appeals Committee have upheld the one match ban handed out to Waterford Senior Hurler Tadgh De Búrca.
It was hoped it would be overturned, leaving him available for the All Ireland semi-final against Cork.
The CAC appeal took place last night, however the result stood.
The centre back was suspended after picking up a red card in the quarter final win over Wexford for alleged helmet interference.

Waterford do have one final avenue of appeal, the Disputes Resolution Authority, however it does look likely that the Clashmore/Kinsalebeg clubman will be absent from next week's panel.
