Despite losing Derek Daly though injury before the interval (Daly has been superb this season) Waterford defeated UCD one nil at the RSC on Friday night.
The only goal of the Match was scored by Shane O'Connor after 27 minutes. A nervous Blues team were put under the cosh in the second half but held on for an important win.
Alan Reynolds and his charges are almost over the promotion line now.
A home win on Friday September 1st against Shelbourne and a slip up by Cobh Ramblers against Athlone Town will see the Blues promoted.
