11 Waterford hurlers nominated for this year's All-Star awards

The Deise trail only All-Ireland champions Galway, who themselves secured 14 nominations.

The 11 in contention for a place in the All Star hurling team of 2017 are Goalkeeper Stephen O’Keeffe, Defenders Noel Connors,Tadhg de Búrca, Darragh Fives, Philip Mahony and Conor Gleeson, Midfielder Jamie Barron and Forwards Kevin Moran, Michael 'Brick' Walsh, Austin Gleeson and Pauric Mahony.

There were also 8 players named for Cork, 5 for Tipperary, 4 for Wexford, 2 for Kilkenny and 1 for Clare.

The final 15 that make up the All-Star Hurling team of 2017 will be presented with their coveted awards at a black tie banquet in Dublin’s Convention Centre on Friday, November 3rd.

Two Waterford players make up the three nominees for this year's 'Hurler of the Year' award, Kevin Moran and Jamie Barron along with Galway's Joe Canning.

Conor Gleeson is in contention for the 'Young Hurler of the Year' award alongside Mark Coleman of Cork and Galway's Conor Whelan.
