Legendary sports commentator and journalist Jimmy Magee has died.
He passed away at the age of 82.
It’s understood the veteran broadcaster known as ‘memory man’ had been ill for some time.
His career spanned over 50 years as commentator for 12 World Cups.
During his career he covered 11 Olympic Games including Waterford man John Treacys olympic silver medal at the Los Angeles Olympics in 1984.
Irish National boxing Champion Neil Gough from Waterford says Jimmy Magee was really good to the sports people away from the microphone and the cameras.
