The BBC has confirmed that Eastenders spin off Redwater will not be returning for a second season.
The drama which was filmed in Dunmore East over a three month period last year, featured characters Kat and Alfie Moon, as Kat searched for her long lost son.
The series ended on a cliffhanger, but despite this the BBC said it was axing the show ‘In order to increase the range of new original drama on BBC One.’
The ratings for Redwater started strongly but fell towards the end of the run.
