De La Salle College and Blackwater Community School have suffered first round defeats in the Harty Cup this afternoon.

Cork minor Liam O'Shea scored 1-5 as Midleton CBS overcame De La Salle 1-21 to 0-12 at a blustery Bushy Park.

Cormac Power from Ballygunner struck eight points for Dermot Dooley's charges. St Colmans Fermoy were 0-14 to 0-11 winners against Blackwater in a tight contest at Ballyduff.
