Waterford Council says a number of vehicles it recently bought will be put to use shortly.
It had been reported that the Council purchased over sixty vans for no specific reason at the start of this year.
A Waterford Council spokesperson said the fleet will replace the older vehicles in its stock.
“They’ll be used for everything, [such as] transport of council employees, cleansing, environment [and] housing work. We’d have inherited the other vehicles from the old City and County councils,” he said.
