Yesterday the ESB restored power to around 5,000 customers around the county, and they expect to make further inroads to the remaining 5,000 or so without power today.

However, not all customers will be back on the grid today.

Water

Irish Water say a generator has been installed in Tallow which is pumping water from the bore hole to the reservoir.

Households in the area will see their supply return over the course of the day as the reservoir fills up.

The tanker which was put in place there yesterday will also remain for most of the day.

Tankers and standpipes are also in those areas to give communities access to water.
