Tom McGlinchy the Waterford manager says he is using the Munster McGrath Cup to give game time to his panel of players.
Ten new players have come on board this season.
The Déise play Cork this afternoon in their second game in the competition. Last week they lost to Clare in their opening game.
Tom McGlinchy says all of the McGrath Cup games and friendly matches will be used to get the team ready for the opening league game against Wicklow on January 28th.
