Winning start for Déise camogie side

The Waterford senior camogie team got off to a winning start under new boss Donal O'Rourke in Division 1 with a 1-12 to 0-6 victory over Meath at the WIT Arena this afternoon.

The home side played with a strong wind in the first half and raced ten points clear by half time. Lorraine Bray whipped to the net after 25 minutes.

Full forward Beth Carton led the way with six points while league debutant Kaiesha Tobin scored three from play.

Goalscorer Lorraine Bray was pleased to put their first win on the board, the Deise midfielder is very impressed with the new management team.

She says that they have done a lot of pre-season work to get ready for 2018.
