Talks are progressing on the redevelopment of Walsh Park.

Plans are now in place to increase the capacity of Waterford City GAA groundWalsh Park to eighteen thousand.

The re-development should be completed for 2019.

Waterford County Board Chairman Paddy Joe Ryan says nce the finance is sorted, it will be put before the clubs.

He says they had a high profile meeting with the Munster and Central Council, Waterford County Board Officers, and the architects involved.

They have agreed on a plan which will be presented to Waterford City and County Council and they will then put that before the 50 clubs who will make the decision.

Paddy Joe Ryan says they will find out next month whether the Munster championship games against Tipperary and Cork will be held at Walsh Park.

He says it is their intention to stage the matches there but there is a lot of legislation surrounding health and safety so that will dictate matters.
