The second alert, a rainfall warning for counties Waterford, Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Cork, Kerry, Limerick, and Tipperary is valid for 24 hours from 2pm this afternoon.
Between 30 and 50 mm of rain is due to fall in many areas, with a risk of flooding.
