The Candystripes maintained their 100% record at the Brandywell thanks to a second-half header from Jack Doyle. The home side also gained revenge for their 2-1 defeat at the RSC in the opening game of the season.

Central defender Kenny Browne missed the game due to a rib injury. He is expected to be fit for Monday’s game away to St Patrick’s Athletic.
