The event which takes place at the Tower Hotel has raised over one million euro over the past 17 years for a range of local charities.
Mayor of Waterford City and County, Pat Nugent, said this year's chose charities are doing fantastic work in the community.
"We'll have over 300 people there on the night," he said, "the three charities... are Waterford Autism and Social Action who are doing wonderful work for people with autism and Asperger's, also Assisi House in Waterford City. Then back in my hometown of Dungarvan, the Sesame Early Intervention Service."
