The Minister of State for Training, Skills, Innovation, Research and Development, John Halligan has hit out at the HSE calling for it to be “disbanded.”
Speaking about the cervical cancer controversy on WLRFM’s Déise Today with Eamon Keane the Junior Minister and Waterford TD said:
“I have been at the forefront for the last number of years calling for the HSE to be disbanded and outside bodies brought in to deliver a better service.”
“The time has come to look at the HSE, I would disband the HSE and start fresh, they are not fit for purpose in dealing with the problems that we face in Ireland.”
Deputy Halligan also believes that the HSE interferes in the running of the government.
“They interfere with politicians and they interfere with arrangements and agreements that have been made to better people’s health.
“I have no time for HSE and nor will I have time for the HSE as they are constituted.
