Waterford FC hoping to make it three straight league wins as the Blues face Shamrock Rovers this evening

Waterford FC will be aiming to make it a third straight win in the Airtricity League Premier Division this evening when they entertain Shamrock Rovers in Dublin.

The Blues have recorded back-to-back league wins with impressive wins away to Bohemians and last Friday's thrilling 2-1 win over Dundalk at the RSC.

Waterford overcame Rovers 2-1 when the sides met at the RSC in March and Alan Reynolds' charges will be hoping to keep the pressure on Cork City and Dundalk at the top of the table.

The Blues blooded quite a young team on Tuesday night at the Showgrounds as the bowed out of the EA Sports Cup following a 1-nil Quarter-Final defeat to Sligo

Speaking to WLR Sport, Blues manager Alan Reynolds says it's a game his charges are really looking forward to.

Kick-off at the Tallaght Stadium is at 8:00pm, Matt Keane will have updates across the evening here on WLR.

Elsewhere this evening, after seeing their long unbeaten run come to a surprising halt away to Bray last week, Derry City welcome the Premier Division leaders Cork City to the Brandywell tonight.

Dundalk are another side looking to rebuild their league form, with Sligo Rovers visiting Oriel Park.
