Cruise ship passengers to spend day exploring Waterford

Another cruise ship has arrived off the coast of Waterford.

The Seven Seas Explorer is docked off Dunmore East with 740 passengers on board. It dropped anchor some distance from the shore however the captain plans to relocate closer to Dunmore East during the day. It will remain there until 5:00pm.

Port of Waterford Harbour Master Darren Doyle presented Captain Rosauro Basta from Scilly, Italy with a piece of Waterford Crystal this morning.

19 different countries are represented on board with the majority from Canada, Mexico and Australia.

The Harbour in Dunmore East has been closed to traffic for health and safety reasons. However the village remains open as normal and visitors to are being urged to make use of the new car park in Shanoon.
