The festival celebrates Boyle’s life and works and a line-up of national and international speakers will explore ideas and issues of today
Eoin Gill, runs Calmast WIT's science outreach centre and says the summer school is not about "school" science.
"It's not out of the textbook," he says. "This is about looking at ideas in science and how they relate to us in our lives."
Some of the topics up for discussion include the perils and promises of 'big data' and the rise in 'fake science', as well as re-enactments of Boyle’s groundbreaking experiments.
