Presidential hopeful Kevin Sharkey says his exclusion from Waterford Council meeting was an error.

Presidential hopeful Kevin Sharkey says he believes he will have another chance to make a pitch for nomination to Waterford City and County Council.

Senator Joan Freeman, businessman Gavin Duffy and retired Aer Lingus employee Patrick Feeney laid out their vision for the presidency to councillors in City Hall earlier this week.

The Donegal-based artist said he wrote to the local authority seeking a place at that meeting but he never got a response.
