Firefighters tackle large blaze in derelict hotel in Tramore

Gardai in County Waterford are investigating the cause of a large fire at a derelict hotel in Tramore.

The blaze at the Tramore Hotel on Strand Street broke out shortly after 5.10pm yesterday evening.

Five units of the fire service from Tramore and Waterford City attended, with crews remaining at the incident until 10.30pm.

Conditions were difficult with driving rain and strong winds.

Nobody was injured in the incident.

The scene has been preserved for a technical examination which will determine the course of the investigation.

The Tramore Hotel was sold at auction in May of this year for 175 thousand euro.
