Abbeyside and De La Salle seeking Co. Senior hurling Championship Final spot this evening

Fraher Field stages the opening Co. Senior hurling Championship semi-final this evening as Abbeyside and De La Salle go head to head.

Both teams have shown good form in reaching the penultimate stage, the Villagers comfortably overcame Tallow in the last eight and Ballinacourty have also qualified for the semi-final stages in the football Championship.

De La Salle put in a powerful second half display, scoring five goals as they saw off Mount Sion in the Quarter-Final four weeks ago.

Owen Dunphy is manager with the Gracedieu outfit, and he told WLR Sport the display by by his charges last time out was pleasing.

Owen says they're expecting a massive challenge this evening.

Abbeyside are under the stewardship of former Déise hurler Peter Queally and he told WLR Sport both sides will come into the game full of confidence.

The action is underway at 5:30pm, and WLR will broadcast the game live thanks to George Corbett Skoda, with commentary team of Kieran O' Connor and Eoin Murphy.
