Gardaí in Waterford are appealing for witnesses to a serious incident in the St. Carthage's Avenue area of the City on Friday last.
A youth was struck by a car at around 7:30 in the evening, and sustained serious ankle and pelvic injuries.
An incident had occurred earlier in the evening and the driver was leaving area when the person was hit.
The Vehicle, a black Volkswagen Golf, was later discovered on Cannon Street, about 300 metres away.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or saw the vehicle leaving in the Cannon Street direction is being asked to contact Waterford Garda Station on 051 305 300.
