Daryl Murphy's continued good form at Ipswich Town could mean a boost for Waterford United's coffers. The former Waterford united striker scored two goals for Roy Keanes side as the Tractor Boys defeated Cardiff City 2 - 0 at Portman Road. Brian Murphy, the former Waterford Bohemans goalkeeper also played his part in the Ipswich victory as he produced a number of fine saves for the home side. Daryl Murphy is at Ipswich on loan from Sunderland. If Ipswich Town do sign the red hot striker, Waterford United would receive a ten per cent of the transfer fee involved.

The FAI Schools Munster Youth Cup final will be played at the RSC on Friday night. St Paul's from the city will play St Declan's of Kilmacthomas. It will be the first time for many years that two Waterford schools will play a provencial soccer final at Youth level. The manager of the St Paul's team is Mairead Collins and she is expecting a very tight game between two fine sides. The manager of the St Declan's team is Kealon O'Neill and he belives that St Paul's will go into the game as favourites.
