Everything that happens in the community such as politics and human interest stories, basically if it happens in Waterford it is our job to know about it. Over the last 20 years it has built up. Obviously we are looking for stories, but now we are top of people's lists to get a story on our news. We have gotten a lot busier, the local content has risen constantly.

I was sitting in my living room trying 100 different ways to get it to work. I never expected to hear any thing back, so I told nobody about it. When I got the call to say that I was one of the finalists I couldn't get over it." Getting his foot in the door he says was the easy part "it was really then that the hard work started, it was a great case of standing up and falling down. I have no background in broadcasting, even though I had and still have a love of music. You either survive or you go under." Thankfully, for both him and his listeners, he has proved a great success. After having a number of jobs where he wasn't fully satisfied he is all to well aware of how lucky he is "it's great to do something you love, and get paid for it. I really don't look at it as work. Personally what I get from this is most of all doing something that I like and secondly having the capacity to make people happy. Being in the background of peoples good times.

Sean Organ
Sean is a big Spurs fan and hails from Dungarvan in County Waterford.
Passion. It is often a misused or misunderstood word. In the case of Sean Organ however it fits him perfectly. When put to him that he is passionate about his work he does not even hesitate in answering "I definitely am. I am very precise about things, I don't like waffle. I like to be straight to the point. It's important that everything is right.
I'm probably my own best critic in that way: everything has to be right." A fact that he is very conscious of "it's important to enjoy what you're doing - comes across on air. I've never been happier doing what I do." With the station for 10 years he says that for him interviewing Olympic medal winner John Tracy is one definite highlight, although he does add "I know it's a cliche but every day is a highlight. Job satisfaction is the most important thing for me. Why do what you don't love? "With a deep love of music, he also says that sports is something that is very close to his heart.
He is almost as active as any of the players on the pitch. Living 100 yards from where he was born in Dungarvan he is the first to talk of his strong affection for his home county and especially the beauty of it's countryside. Although he does add "I'm just proud to be Irish, full stop." Asked what he thinks is the most important aspect of his work he says "the most important thing is to keep it simple, people are not stupid, they don't like to be patronised. You have to be passionate about what you do, you have to care, it shows.
