Officials from Waterford City Council refused to meet with taxi drivers who staged a protest over the lack of spaces on ranks in the city this afternoon. Taxi drivers from Cork travelled to Waterford to support the strike and taxi drivers from Wexford also pledged their support. Drivers say they will hold a similar protest every Friday and add an extra hour of protest every weekif agreement is not reached with the City Council.Spokesperson for the Waterford Taxi Drivers Association Noel McLawrence says it was the biggest taxi protest to date. |
