The Mayor of County Waterford says the ongoing investigation into suspected planning irregularities has negative implications for the council. Billy Kyne says the Council is fully co-operating with the Gardai in their enquiries into a planning application that was submitted to the council for approval. The investigation centres on the Council's proposal to ammend its County Development Plan to zone up to 300 acres of land near Dungarvan from agricultural to economic use. An approach from a member of the public to Waterford Fine Gael Deputy John Deasy led to the garda investigation. Billy Kyne says all members of Waterford County Council and Dungarvan Town Council have been interviewed as part of the enquiries. |
