Waterford FG Senator pays tribute to Enda Kenny
Waterford Fine Gael Senator Paudie Coffey says Enda Kenny can leave his role as party leader with his head held high.
His tenure as Fine Gael leader came to an end after midnight last night, but he'll continue as Taoiseach until sometime in June in order to let his successor have talks with other parties.
Leo Varadkar and Simon Coveney are currently the frontrunners to succeed him.
Paudie Coffey says that Enda Kenny inherited a lot of difficult issues when he became Taoiseach.
Senator Coffey says it's too early to say who he'll back to succeed Enda Kenny, and that the leadership contest may not be a two horse race.
