Dublin

Sun 2nd April - Little Hours @ Smock Alley Theatre, 2:30pm and 7:30pm

Little Hours musicians John Doherty & Ryan McCloskey are on route to taking their Alternative Pop sound to the main stream, since their arrival on the Irish music scene two years ago from their hometown of Killybegs. Their debut EP Little Hours includes the infectious lead single It’s Still Love.

The seclusion of their studio in the remote fishing village is seen in the pared back precision of their song-writing, weaving gorgeous melodies with evocative lyrics. Little Hours’ creative vision extends beyond their song-writing. Keyboardist John is a painter, and produces original artworks to accompany each of the tracks the duo record. These threads of artistry all combine to build a uniquely home-grown approach to their craft.

Fri 31st March, Sat 1st April - Fresh Film Festival @ Odeon Cinema, Castletroy and Belltable

The 21st Fresh Film Festival, Ireland's major film festival showcasing films made by Irish and international young filmmakers, runs from the 27th March - 1st April 2017.

Founded in 1997 as part of the Limerick Film Festival as the Irish School’s Video Competition, Fresh Film Festival was originally a schools video competition for secondary students.

It has since grown into a year round organisation with a focus on national and international filmmakers spanning the primary and secondary age groups.

‘Fresh’ has incrementally grown in scope in response to increasing numbers of entries and ‘Ireland’s Young Filmmaker Awards” now constitute three sections – Junior (7-12 years) – Senior (12- 18 years) and The International Young Filmmaker Awards. Each section is open to individual filmmakers, schools, youth and community groups in these age categories.
