Waterford’s weather for Wednesday January 17th
This morning there will be sunny spells and scattered showers. Fresh to strong and gusty westerly winds will gradually moderate through the day. However, a spell of heavy and persistent rain will spread from the west this afternoon in a strengthening south to southwest wind and winds will increase again gale force near coasts later. Afternoon temperatures of 5 to 7 degrees.
This evening and early tonight will become very windy as a spell of heavy rain spreads eastwards and clears to scattered showers later in the night. Westerly winds will be very strong with severe gusts. But as the rain clears winds will moderate. Lowest temperatures will fall to between 2 and 5 degrees.
Tomorrow, Thursday will be a cold and breezy day with sunny spells. There will be scattered showers with the risk of hail or thunder and showers may turn to sleet on higher ground. Afternoon temperatures will be around 4 to 6 degrees in a moderate to fresh westerly breeze.
