A new Mayor for Waterford City and County has been elected.
Pat Nugent has been a Fine Gael Cllr for the Dungarvan/Lismore district since 2004.
The Kinsalebeg native was proposed by fellow FG Cllr Damien Geoghegan and seconded by FF's Tom Cronin.
A father of eight, the Council Chamber was packed with family members, former mayors and Waterford Senators to witness his elevation to first citizen.
Addressing them Mayor Nugent said he was determined to work for the betterment of Waterford:
