Waterford man jailed for threatening infant son

A Waterford man has been jailed for 18 months for threatening his infant son.

The Irish Times reports that Sean Power from Manor Street in Waterford pleaded guilty at Clonmel Circuit Court to making a threat that he would kill or injure his 18-month-old son.

The court heard the 24 year old had been rowing with his mother and his girlfriend when he grabbed his child from bed, opened the door of the stove and said 'you'll never see him again, say goodbye'.

Power then took a knife from the kitchen, threatened to kill himself and held the knife up to his son's throat.
