The young blues had a dramatic 4-2 extra time victory over Shamrock Rovers at the Village Grounds last night.

Colm Whelan gave the Blues the lead after 22 seconds. This was the 9th consecutive game that he found the net. Jack Larkin missed a penalty but Darryl Walsh did make it two nil on 19 minutes.

Dean Williams then came up trumps for Rovers scoring on 68 and 77 minutes to level matters.

Colm Whelan struck once again this time from the penalty spot in the last minute of the first period of extratime and Darryl Walsh also scored his second goal with the last kick of the match.

The Blues will now play Sligo Rovers in the final and that game will be played at the RSC.
