25,000 expected for the Iverk Show

Some of Waterford's finest producers will be displaying their wares at the nation's oldest agricultural show on Saturday.

The Iverk Show in County Kilkenny is entering its 191st year, and 25,000 people are expected to attend.

Many local creators from fashion, food and agriculture will be making the journey to Piltown.

There are local classes for horses, sheep, crafts, cattle, flowers, poultry, dogs, fruit, cakes, vegetables, farm produce, arts, jams and honey.

There is a competition for the ‘Most Appropriately Dressed Lady’ as well as a fashion show.

There are also hundreds of trade stands from large outdoor exhibits to small indoor industries and artisan food stands attracting local and national food producers.

Gates open this Saturday at 9am. Admission €10 for Adults, Students €5 & Children under 12 are free if accompanied by an Adult.
