Car crashes into Waterford creche

Children at a Waterford creche had a lucky escape this morning when a car crashed into their preschool room.

The incident happened at First Steps Creche in Ballybeg.

Childcare manager Carmel Saunton said she wanted to reassure parents that all the children are fine.

Carmel said as a car was entering the carpark, it lost control and crashed into the building, damaging the preschool room.

There were no injuires to any children or staff.

Carmel said all the children were removed from the room and brought to a safe and secure area.

She commended the emergency services for their quick response.

The preschool room will be closed for a week while repairs are carried out.
