Two Waterford housing projects scoop honours at the National Community Housing Awards

Donal McManus, CEO of the Irish Council of Social Housing, said judges were impressed by the rejuvenation of the two old Waterford buildings, and the wider impact that has had for the community:

Respond's redevelopment of the landmark John's College in the city won the 'Housing for Older People' Award and Waterford Council scooped the award for ‘Most Creative Response’for the Ormonde Cinema Housing Development in Dungarvan.

Nine awards were given in total, and with over 40 entrants overall to have 2 winners in Waterford, Donal says is a great achievement.
