16th Annual Imagine Festival underway in Waterford

The 10 day Imagine Arts Festival has opened in Waterford, and it's a bumper festival this year featuring 120 acts & performances - 58 of them are free of charge at venues across the City

This weekend hoards of Vikings and locals are set to take to the streets of The Apple Market on Sunday, October 22nd for what the country's largest ever flour fight at the 'Battle of the Blaa' at 1pm.

This year the festival includes the John Dwyer trad weekend with two giants of Irish traditional music, Noel Hill and Frankie Gavin coming together with Brian McGrath for a rare performance. There's also a  host of other musical performances across different genres.

Waterford Writers Weekend now also forms part of the Imagine festival.

Writers Stefanie Preissner, Paul Howard, Cat Hogan, Eithne Shortall, Sinead Crowley, Sally Rooney, along with Waterford Whispers News Founder Colm Williamson all take part in the weekend, which is curated by broadcaster Rick O'Shea.
