Dungarvan Gardai have issued a statement for motorists and residents in Dungarvan of the possibility of flooding in the town between 6pm and 8pm this evening the 20/10/2017.
The Dungarvan council is monitoring the situation and have advised me that there will be high tide of 4.3 metres at approx 7pm in Dungarvan.
There are South Easterly winds and with heavy rains it may lead to flooding in the following areas:
- The Quays
- Strand Street
- Quanns (Around the Sports Centre)
- Duckspool (Area around the Friary College)
You are asked to avoid this area during the hours of 6pm and 8pm and to take the necessary precautions. Please also be aware of falling trees in the area as the ground is waterlogged and high winds may cause trees to fall.
