This Christmas, we want to bring your loved ones home from the USA to Waterford thanks to Cork Airport and Norwegian!
We know how difficult it can be for your family and friends to make the trip home, so this November, we set to reunite one Waterford family for Christmas. The prize included flights to Cork Airport with Norwegian, transfers to Waterford and dinner for 10 people to celebrate in the stunning Waterford Castle Hotel and Golf Resort.
You've been nominating your loved ones in their hundreds: we've heard about sons and daughters with children; brothers and their fiancées; sisters and children who've never met their family in Ireland; aunt, uncle, best friends and even husbands and wives who are living Stateside! WLR, Cork Airport and Norwegian came together to reunite you and your family this Christmas.
On Friday, 1st December, we delivered the good news to the Downey family in Tramore. Here was their entry:
'I really miss my brother and I would just love to sit down for Christmas dinner with him and his family. We were young when our dad passed away, it was huge shock at the time and left a big hole. But my mam was just brilliant she was an inspiration, she learned how to drive, brought us to matches and we got on with life as a family. She got us all through college and kept us on the right track. Then my brother decided to go to America after he qualified as an electrican 10 years ago. Mam was worried at first but Conor never looked back and he got a job, found a wife and has 2 beautiful children now. I know we have been over a couple of times and he has been back twice in that 10 years but we have never celebrated Christmas together since he left. My mam has always put everyone first and it would be just amazing to see her face if we were all their together as a family on Christmas day. If anyone deserves this is my rock in life my mam. Michael's brother Conor was in work in Brooklyn, NY on Friday afternoon at 3.40pm Irish time when he got the call to hear the good news:
