Some of the larger builds which are in the planning stages include 32 units in An Garran, Tramore; 39 units at Kilrush, Dungarvan; 20 units at Ballinroad, Dungarvan; and 12 units in Coolfin Woods, Portlaw, according to the Department of Housing's Construction Status Quarterly report.

Around 3,300 people are on Waterford's housing list.

The South Eastern Head of Focus Ireland David Niblock says it will take years to properly address Ireland's housing crisis:

"We've got to start building on the land that we have...If we start building now, it will still take 2 to 3 years to bring on the properties that are needed to support the people who are in B&Bs and hotel".
