Staff at Dooley's Hotel in Waterford City help to deliver a baby.

 

The mother who is from Limerick was due to be admitted to University Hospital Waterford today.

However operations Manager in Dooley's, Coleen Moroney says the baby boy was not going to wait for that.

She told WLR News that they got a call to go up to a bedroom early this morning because a woman had gone into labour.

Coleen and one of the owners of the Hotel, Mags Darrer, went up to the room where the lady was in full labour in the bathroom.    Her husband was with her as they waited for the emergency services.

The woman gave birth in the bathroom.   Coleen said they had to remain calm as the lady was panicking.

Receptionist Orla brought the couples three children down to the dining room for breakfast.

The two ambulances were on site within fifteen minutes.
