Waterford camogie side face Meath in National league opener

Waterford Senior camogie side commence their National League campaign this afternoon.

Last year's All-Ireland Intermediate champions Meath are the visitors to the WIT Arena for the opening round.

The last time the sides met Meath lost out by a point in the Intermediate All Ireland semi-final in 2015 and Waterford qualified for the All Ireland final.

Waterford will be without the Lismore players but will have likes of Beth Carton, Niamh Rockett and Lorraine Bray to call on.

Donal O' Rourke is in his first season as Déise manager and he says Meath will be no pushover.

Donal says they will be formiddable opponents but admits it'd be nice to start the league with a victory.
