Gardai in Waterford City are investigating a suspicious house fire which happened overnight.
Emergency services were alerted to the incident at Ardmore Park in Ballybeg at 3.20am.
There was one person in the house at the time, they heard a noise and discovered the sitting room was on fire.
Two appliances from Waterford City attended the blaze until around 6.00am.

Extensive damage was caused to the house and Gardai are carrying out a technical examination of the scene.
