Waterford Libraries launch Healthy Ireland programme

Waterford Libraries launch Healthy Ireland programme

Waterford's libraries are doing their bit to encourage people to make positive choices to improve their physical and mental health.

The "Healthy Ireland at Your Library" campaign is running until the end of March.

There's health information including books and online resources, as well as free events like talks, yoga and guided walks taking place at branches across the county.

Waterford Dietitian Aoife Hearne says "libraries are at the heart our our communities. It is about our empowering our community to make better choices from eating, from exercise, from all angles of wellness." She added that "because this is led by Healthy Ireland, there's a strong emphasis on ensuring that the information is coming from qualified regulated health professionals."
