Saint Paul's Boxing Club in Waterford City have advised that they do not and will not be calling door to door for donations.
It's after a number of incidents where a man claiming to be from the club called to homes in the Viewmount and Grange areas of Waterford City looking to collect money.
The Club say they do not fund raise in this way.
Householders are urged to take extra care and do not leave belongings unattended if anyone calls to their home.
