A status red snow and ice warning is in place nationwide – with people being warned to stay indoors from 4PM.
Last night Met Eireann updated the red alert to include all counties, until tomorrow afternoon.
Further snow showers are expected this morning, with Storm Emma bringing blizzard like conditions this afternoon.
Roads throughout Waterford City and County are treacherous at the moment.
All elective and outpatient appointments have been cancelled for today and tomorrow in University Hospital Waterford. The Emergency Department will operate as normal. Priority will be given to the most urgent cases. The National Ambulance Service will also operate as usual.
Cancer Services will continue as normal.
UPMC Whitfield Cancer Centres Radiotherapy department will be closed today.
Any patients that were scheduled for appointments will be contacted directly to reschedule appointments for Monday, March 5th.
All Letter and Parcel collection and delivery services in Waterford have been suspended until further notice.
