Waterford Gardai appealing to people to stay off the roads

Gardai in Waterford are urging people not to travel today.

Road conditions are treacherous right across the county. Gardai say that 4X4 vehicles are struggling in the conditions and are getting stuck.

They're appealing to people not to venture out of housing estates in their cars. People have had to abandon cars blocking access routes for emergency vehicles

Eight to ten inches of snow fell in Waterford overnight and snow is continuing to fall. It's led to drifts of up to eight feet in places. Further accumulations of snow are expected today.
