JD Wetherspoon says it will open in Waterford City.
The pub giant was granted planning permission in November of 2016 to develop a premises at two adjoining buildings on Broad Street and Arundel Square.
The Waterford pub would be spread out over three floors and would include a 1st floor customer garden area.
A spokesperson for Wetherspoon confirmed to WLR News that they will definitely be developing the Waterford site and are “currently working the project up to tender”.
Wetherspoon entered the Irish market in 2014 and five pubs have been opened to date. Work is scheduled to begin on two other Dublin sites shortly, one of which is a hotel at Camden Street.
