LISTEN BACK: A Waterford City and County Councillor has called for the development of a sulky racing track in the city

Waterford City and County Cllr Jim Griffin said that the council should look into developing sulky racing in the city.

Cllr Jim Griffin (SF) believes that if new bylaws were passed banning Sulky racing in Waterford this summer, there would need to be something to replace it.

Speaking to Maria on Deise Today with Eamon Keane, the Councillor who is also on the Traveller SPC Group said:

"Sulky racing in Ireland, England, Europe, America and Australia is a massive part of life in those countries and I cant understand why we should not be looking at it in Ireland and certainly in Waterford City and County."
